Nice one

To be honest my first reaction to hearing this was "stolen", but that's not the case because you're music is reliably yours and shows that you are capable of making this. Which means that is a very large compliment.

Excellent job, but I would suggest using samples with a greater frequency range. I noticed that the majority of this piece had a very small frequency window. You'll notice in my music, especially my latest, that there is alot of variance in frequencies.

Regardless of my personal tendencies, this is very well done, congratulations. 5/5 Make more,

(I'm almost positive this will shortly find itself a home in some flash battle scene)

Grumbleduke responds:

Frequency range? Sorry you lost me there with the technical words, I just put notes to score! Maybe I would be better off knowing some of these expressions; I'm gonna do what you said and listen to yours.

A little G-Unit?

Well, well. I see that we're all gangsters here as well as musicians, Technique... err fresh beats "homie"

I had better 5 this to avoid the title "hater". no just kidding, this is actually kind of cool. Good job, 5/5

This is actually a really cool trancish track

First of all, good improvement over your last music. I liked the instruments you used, especially the vocals; They are quite effective in combination with the other ambience in this song. Great job, 5/5

Thank you for the kind review. I've been practicing alot in FL (hence my long absence), and I'm glad to know that it's payed off.

I'll be sure to return the favor of this review by the end of this day.

Nice song, love the ambient bells

Very cool chord progresion. I found the bells most effective. This is a great track for chilling out, the melody is very appropriate and it seems to fluidly blend with the supporting elements that underlay in this song's foundation. This sounds like it was done with a keyboard. My suggestion to make this an even better track would be to slightly quantize things to generally clean up a few timing errors. Overall very nice, 5/5

Great, seems what I set out to do with this song came through. You're right, I recorded all except the drums with a keyboard (the computer kind). There are quite a few notes that are a bit off.

Thanks for another review nv.

Nice battle music

Cool percussion, but perhaps a bit too much gain. According to what you posted in the audio forum about this being a battle theme, I agree with you. I'm sure it would very nicely suit the game you are developing. Just upon reflection though, I did notice that the melody was slightly confusing. It's not that they are "wrong notes" by any means, but its definitely not a standard fit for the sub-melodies you used. In general, this was great though, 5/5

(Good rythym on your melody by the way)

Brilliant Work

An excellent conclusion to an already amazing song.
The dynamic ability that you show through youre music is great. The synthesizer and percussion are a beautiful alternative for a lovely ending. Keep sharing your musical thoughts,

Love-Hate-War responds:

Yeh, i thought id try an alternative to how most metal songs end. Everything in metal is becomming too generic for me these days, so i thought id mix it up a bit :P Thanks for the review, much appreciated!

Very great work done here, excellent skill level

First off, I would like to let you know that your music is very promising.
Extremely tight (and I dont think this was quantized much at all, which is awesome), solid melodies give the listener a feeling of raw energy. I love "drop D" songs like this, especially when the voice harmonies are so brilliantly done.

Good luck in the future mate, you're bound to get scouted if you keep up this level of work, (The guitar octave harmonies are great as well by the way)

nightvision

Love-Hate-War responds:

haha, thanks alot!! Quantizing just takes away from the performance, i tend not to do it. It's taken me ages to get vocal harmonies right, they're hard lil bastards!! Thanks for the words, ill hit you back some more!

Impressive

Very nice ideas that you have. You need to extend the length of this song because we want to here this longer. Each segment would be complimented by a longer verse. It's slightly lacking sustain but still very well done. Great job 5/5,

nightvision

caffeinerush responds:

Wow, thanks for another 10. Agree completely. I might do another one of these.

Cheers nightvision

Very impressive

I can tell this is a slightly diferent slant from the rest of your work, but that doesn't seem to denote your track record of top quality production. Diversity gets a special mention, it's obviously something you focused on. The sounds you used are very appropriate, much like your other pieces (Expect some PM's about what synthesizers you are using). ;)

First of all, the introduction builds a good amount of suspense and concludes with a shattering melody to break in the main energy of the song.
The bass line is very effective, not to mention the key change (which could have held on longer in my opinion). Though I would have had a more distinct main melody on top of the existing higher one halfway through the song (I personally would have brought down the levels of the existing melody and increased them on the replacement melody).

Very solid impression by the listener, you are great at producing powerful, distinct melodies. Another download and 5/5.

DavidOrr responds:

Thanks for your support man, I love getting reviews like these!

I'm starting to get more into DnB and httlove to throw distortion on everything electronic now, so the different slant comment isn't a big surprise (although the compliment about production is!).

You can read my like a book, buddy. Diversity IS what this piece is in my opinion, it's what I was striving for. How many different sounds can I throw in here before the thing gets super cluttered.

Glad you liked the keychange, it's a pretty classic thing to do with electronica. I wrote a classical piece once called Serenity (very old version is on newgrounds), which ended up having a key change almost every 4-8 measures. Doesn't quite work in classical as it does with electronica. But I digress.

I don't even remember where I was going with that.

Thanks for the review!

Not quite pokemon

I see that you consistently improving all the time Father_Of_Death. Keep working at it because every melody you create sharpens your skills. Good job at trying to diversify your music a bit more, but I would suggest a more "focused" melody. At some points, the melody was confusing with the bass line. I hope this gets put in a flash project as well, it will give you a boost in confidence to keep going at it. Good effort Father_Of_Death 4/5,
