Great track

This is some very professional sounding material here, great work. I have absolutely no critisizm on this track, I would do this much the same way. Great job, 5/5 and download.

Nice track, but mainstream

Thi is certainly not ambient, you need to rethink what category this belongs in, perhaps techno. I found this track way to much like the "mainstream sound" excluding the piano part (which I thought was great diversity by the way), but it needs something different about it.

Having said that, the majority of the song was mixed quite well. In your future work i would suggest using panning effects, it seems like the next step of a solution to make your music better. I rated this 4/5, good job

Nice ambience

This is a great ambient track. Simple, yet effective. The chord progression you chose was very appropriate for an ambient piece. I just finished watching "In memory of Elle" when it dawned on me that this would be a good basis for a sad flash animation.

Even though there are many positive points to this track, you did need to make this longer. Perhaps ad some more diverse percussion midway through the song. Other than that, I wouldn't change a thing, nice job. I rated this a 4/5,

Nice Job

Cool stuff, this is great for a video game. Very relaxed. I agree that this would match well in a RPG shop of somekind. Although, to target flash-makers as your audience, you may want to add a few drums. Perhaps even give it that 16-bit feel with some dubbed percussion. I hope your song is chosen for a flash animation, this is a nicely done track. 5/5

Cheers for another review NV. I hope it gets used, I'll try the stuff you suggested.

Not very impressive

The fact that this song is "100% Sytrus" probably isn't something you want to flaunt. The beginning becomes quite irritating after about 30 seconds, again this has very little diversity as a result of the single instrument for the majority of the song.

This song isn't to positive in my humble opinion, not to mention all of the notes seem to be dissonant with each other. This deserves another 3/5.

Not Bad

Perhaps a bit more diversity in the drums would make this track a success. As of now, it just doesn't seem to fly with me. I rated it a 3/5, it seems little effort was given into this track's production.

Another nice melody, good work

My first impression of the very beginning was simply "too fluid", and later on this song felt like it had serious compression, perhaps too much.

Interesting chord progression, your right it was very happy. I found it quite pleasant to listen to, but again I found diversity slightly lacking (I found the key change countered that effect, very nice).

I voted a 5/5 on this, though it seemed like less effort was put into its production than "Read the Mind", it still was a great uplifting track to listen to.

(Thanks for your vote, nightvision! You voted 5 for {Away From Reality}, raising its score from 4.33 to 4.50)

cornandbeans responds:

:P yeah, I loaded this song with tons of compression. I have problems with my songs being too soft, so I try to counter that without the volume going over the bars. This is one of the first times I've done a key change, I can never get it to sound right... I'm glad that it added to the song! Of course, this song was made in >2 hours, so it probably would have sounded like less effort on that account. However, I didn't want to cram too much stuff into it... Hm. I'm glad for your opinion on the song, thanks for reviewing and voting! It means a lot.

Nice Percussion

This was a rock solid beginning, but as soon as the bass kicked in, the gain became too much. It didn't deter me though, the great melody kept me interested. Slightly repetitive after a while, that's for sure. A little short for my liking.

The one part in the song that underwent an entire frequency shift was more destructive rather than constructive. That's just my humble opinion though.

Flourish this melody a little bit more (this will also take care of your length problem) it and you'll have a great song. I gave this a 4/5, because I think you have done better, keeping in mind that this is still a great track. Good work.

cornandbeans responds:

I was worried about that.. :| I wasn't sure to call this a work in progress or not, because I wanted to get a solid view on it before I added the rest of my ideas. The frequency shift was more of a build of than anything else... I'm looking for some ideas on that, because a snare roll or a reverse cymbal just dosen't cut it sometimes. :P Thanks for the review and vote, I'll take some of your critism to the final version. :)

btw, any more word on that collab software? I'd really like to give it a go!

Good job

I don't have a tremendous amout to say, but I thought I would metion that you did a very nice job with the drum slices.

Appropriate rythym for a DnB song, good job.

Good try

Nice track in general, but unfortunately I have less-than-positive feedback.

At first it seemed like a blazing intro to a shattering melody line, but I was slightly disappointed. The dissonant 2nd melody at beginning set somewhat of a negative idea in my head about the rest of the song.

I also feel that following the introduction, your track falls into recurring repetitiveness that I quickly grew tired of (eg. percussion loop, VOX).

I think that your other recent music is slightly more appealing. Despite my ranting, I am actually trying to stay as positive as possible. Hopefully I've helped identify some of the problems from the "listener's point of view".

Keep trying man, some of your other work is great.
