Unbelievable

Wow, when I listened to this song the weirdest thing happened. Have you ever listened to a song and sung your "own bass line" to substitute what you wished the song would use? Well as the bass the was very quiet I sung the very exact bass line that existed (One of my 'passion' bass lines). Very weird coincidence, I didn't think it would ever happen. You communicated exactly what I try to communicate in my own music. I could ramble on forever about how exciting this was, but all I need to say is this emotionally inspired me a great amount. 5/5 and download.

Doc-Marsh responds:

Thanks for the words. I'm glad you enjoyed it. And yeah, I guess the bass is a little light. I'll have to remember to tweak my next ones a little more. I actually turned the bass down cause it was shaking my house...guess I overcompensated. hehe.

Great tune, very well mixed

I think it's a great choice that you decided to showcase yourcase your music on Newgrounds. I really like your style, I feel the passion you put into this song. I love the bass line you chose for the melody, I tend to use the same kind of bass variation as you seem to like in this song. Keep posting your work, it's great to hear a similar thinker ( I know thats what I was excited to hear when I had been new to Newgrounds). Enjoy your stay here, and post in the forums. You will find there are other friendly musicians here,

Doc-Marsh responds:

Thank you very much for the encouragement and the ratings. I intend to make a few shorter tunes that'll be exclusive here. It seems like a fun community to share some music with.

Stop it

Sounded like you got lucky with the first six notes and then continued to just punch random keys. Don't post anymore garbage in hopes of slighlt recognition, you're only going to get what your looking for if some guy with no musical taste whatsoever gives you a lucky review of "nice".

Dawei responds:

If you knew how much work it takes to make this, you would be respected on ng. It's called the dumming down of america and it's a shame people like your work, you put no effort into your songs, and if you ever want to become a professional, check the Boston Garden which my band (Deep In Sin) has been invited to, and as the my bands letter the mail said,"Deep In Sin has been invited to the Boston Garden because of our humor on stage yet staying mature about the music and having the teen spirit that it takes to work on stage and be filled up with energy when you take the worst of insults about your music." The letter also says, "Your lyrics are so deep it will say within the core of the world forever." The letter said after that, "Another reason we have chosen Deep In Sin over all the other bands we have heard is because we beleive that you have the power to bring the whole music industry back from the current trashy hole it is in." And then, "The great sounds of rock have been buried ever since after the movement of Grunge. Deep In Sin is so strong it has dug up the sound and lyrics with your powerful sounds and words true musicians need. Your hits like like your self titled song 'Deep In Sin', and 'The Death of Rap' have brought music back to it's early roots of the Sixties with such bands like 'The Doors'", and I took that as a compliment because The Doors are one of my favorite bands, and the last line, "As you said in your song 'Train Going Down' 'It can't rain, All the time, Traid a guitar, For a rhyme, Poor old train, Went down slow, I guess you gotta, Let the river flow,'. Ever since we heard those words, we were meserized with the truth of rock flowing back to the world's hands. We hope your record deal at Warner Bros. Records goes well, and we can't wait to see you in two weeks here at The Boston Garden."

-Your Truly,
The Boston Garden."

Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

NG isn't a dump

oof

Sorry, but anybody with half a brain could figure out that this is you singing. It's not your brother because if what you said is true then something doesnt add up. You said that you first recorded this right? And then your brother came and "ruined it"? I dont think so. Why does the guitar stop playing in the the part of the song where there are just vocals, and then the voice quiets down when the "heavier" playing happens? It was meant to happen like that, that's why. I could keep going... Why are the vocals so quiet? Not because your younger brother did it, its because your sitting on a chair away from your microphone because the microphone is sitting next to your amp.

Lastly, you should understand that NG is not a place to throw random garble in hopes that you would fulfill your fantasy of someone labelling you a musician.

Am I upset? Yes, and I think I have plenty of evidence to justify my position.

Dawei responds:

right, of course it was me, when i sing i have a stand for my mic. it get's quiet at one part because i was going to add my vocals there, but when i went to take a dump, my brother came in and, since he's a stupid loser, of course he didn't know how to use the equitment. the only reason i didn't explain that early was because i didn't have enough room to right it in the desription. the reason i didn't take his vocals off was because when i did it, i lost all the music. this was like two years ago, before i started taking lessons, and i assure you, i fi performed this at my concert a couple days ago, there wouldn't have been all those people stuffed in to that small room. if you don't think this is good, check my bill cosby parodies, loser.

You're right, swing feel does something magical

Excellent, I love the chord progression you used in this song. The swing feel adds an incredible amount the depth of the song. When the bass comes in, the result is very powerful emotion. Very professionally done. I've added this to my playlist (Only the best). I gave you a 5/5, though you prbably deserve a 6 or 7, heh heh.

No1r responds:

Thanks again for listening!
The explosion with bass and the very fast ride swing is exactly "my key" of the song. I am happy :)

Excellent quality worksmenship

Great emotion through the entire piece. The key change addes another dimension to the attitude of the song. Volume sensitivity makes diversity and provides consistent interest to the listener. Great Work 5/5

No1r responds:

Thanks mate, really.
Knowing that someone likes your music is something magical as an emotion transfer, something that words can not explain.

Good attempt

I'll first preface by saying that I apologize if I come out overly negative, I dont mean to be. First thing that I noticed aside from others' comments were that the rythym was too heavily syncopated.I can tell that you're fairly green to guitar (which is fine), and I would suggest doing finger excercises to strengthen up your chords before you record next. I'm sure that your computer could have provided a better effect than slapping the side of the guitar. Personally, I don't think that wasn't the prettiest sound i've heard. In the future, try practising to avoid strumming the entire neck when hitting a single note. Finally, besides the little diversity, I was quickly annoyed by the noise reduction that the second half of the song failed to have.

After saying all of that, I do hope you will attempt to correct some of these mistakes, but keep trying. The worst thing you could do is to stop practising, never do that. Good luck, friend.

RadRacer responds:

im not that new at guitar (3 years maybe 4) :( Good suggestions, though I don't know what syncopated means. I'm not sure how to do noise reduction(otherwise I definatley would have, I hate it too) thanks for the review

Absolute crazyness - I like it

Heh heh, whewww! Thats quite the alert, I tell ya if I was the intruder and I heard this I think I would be scared stiff with confusion.

Thick stuff man, very unique and origonal. 5/5

Thanks for the review man, much appreciated.

Amazing Job (tight grooves, unbelievable)

Inspiring and thought provoking, and nothing less. You are a fabulous artist.5/5

pitbulljones responds:

thankyou very much NV for your review. Glad you enjoyed it. I doubt i'll ever make a tune like this again tbh, inspiration only comes once in a while. Cheers for the five.

Excellent first attempt.

I know, I know FL Studio likes to cut off notes at beginning of each note. I made the switch the Reason 3.0 from FL Studio because it handles that kind of velocity-sensitive track much nicer.

Still excellent work, I can identify that aside from physical talent, you have a brilliant set of musical ears. I hope you practise music as a career, as I am planning next year. The best luck to both of us.

nightvision

Metaljonus responds:

Ya I just noticed that about FL pretty gay to say the least that it does that. Thanks for the kind words man and yes best of luck to both of us. :)
